Corporal Jake Hartley, died serving his country with 5 other brave soldiers on Tuesday. A beautiful, kind and funloving guy with his whole future ahead of him. 20 years old. How could they take away somebody so young and brave? 21 this Saturday Jake, everyone will be celebrating with you! It’s so hard coming to terms with you not being here anymore, how them disgusting people hurt you. A hero isn’t someone who preaches for harmony, sets up charity and throws money at organisations. A true hero is someone who risks their life every day, just like every single soldier fighting for our country, who dies in our name, who repeatedly puts themselves through these dangerous conditions for us, for our protection, for the protection of others. Such selfless people should never ever be taken away from us. Everybody hurts so much. Everybody’s crying. I saw your star so brightly in the sky last night Jake and I hope you continue to shine down on us. You have made me so proud to have known you, to have partied with you, to have spoken to you whenever I could. It shouldn’t have been you.Sleep tight beautiful. I’m sending all of my love to you up there in heaven.
